Action-fantasy with comedy tinges which also has a very interesting story, it is part of shamanism, a sorcerer imprisoned by a talisman wants to free himself from the spell and Cheon, the heir of the shaman who imprisoned the sorcerer, he will find himself facing this situation and clashing with the villain.
The beginning of the film is funny, Cheon and his helper are in fact scammers who make money by pretending to chase away spirits, there are gags and ironic moments.< br />When the film delves deeper into the story, into the fantasy and (very) vaguely "horror" atmospheres, the staging does not prove to be up to par.
Unfortunately there is a very strong use of cgi which kills the attempts to create atmosphere and the direction seems to remain at standard levels, there are no impactful scenarios or truly suggestive moments, for example the part of the cemetery lacks atmosphere also because the photography is rather basic and of those already seen in many other films that use classic filters and many lens flares.
There are camera movements and the direction aims to be dynamic to move everything and give rhythm, what is missing is a bit of creativity and refinement.
If Cheon's character has his own background and his own objective, the girl who sees the ghosts is neither adequately well exploited nor too characterized.
In the final battle it is nice that the entire team of protagonists actively participate, however here too too much CGI, even the villain, when the sorcerer shows his possessed face in blue tones, has a bad visual effect and this takes away from the atmosphere.
The fiery chains in CGI are ugly to look at so the whole thing fails to have the right scope.
With more care it could have been a good, enjoyable film but when staged like this it loses too much.
