Marc Fitoussi, French director, makes an intelligent and well-constructed film. It is possible, in fact, by living abroad and having a good standard of living, to enjoy what you have and build a world more of appearances than reality. The protagonist in question discovers her husband's betrayal, but she herself is not free from the transgression, even following what happened. She seeks revenge, but she herself is sought. At a certain point there will also be a tragedy, appearances will at that point be very useful in getting out of it. But nothing will be as before, reality claims its part and the lives of the protagonists will change, there will most likely be other appearances. Vienna is the environment, you perceive it but you don't see much. The music is there because the protagonist conducts an orchestra, but this is above all a pretext and the occasion, the musical soundtrack is almost not affected. Finally, there is also the French library in Vienna, but it too is a background. In the foreground there are people who are agitated by their feelings, curiosities and rumors. Very often, in fact, appearances.
